The Edge Of The World

I run along the ocean shore,
Wind flying through my hair.
He takes my hand in his,
He holds it tight;
Never let go, never let go.

We run until the shoreline stops;
The edge of the world.
I stop short, he does not.
He is gone.

I now run along the ocean shore,
Wind flying through my hair.
I do not feel his hand reach for mine.
He does not hold it tight.
He is no longer with me.

I run until the shoreline stops;
The edge of the world.
I stand on the edge thinking.
The wind pushes my of the edge of the world.

I am gone too.
