1.

The loss of a loved one brings on the tears.
They continue to flow for many long years.
The emptiness felt with each passing day;
Weighs on the heart and warns it to pray.
...

Nothing quite says what I feel today,
A little bit silly, a little bit gay.
Two parts thoughtful, three parts sad,
A whole lot of lonely and just plain mad.
...

Maybe someday I will be me.
Free to do whatever I please.
Time for laughter, no more tears;
Day of happiness, no more fears.

Grief

The loss of a loved one brings on the tears.
They continue to flow for many long years.
The emptiness felt with each passing day;
Weighs on the heart and warns it to pray.

How to go on in spite of the pain;
Losing your spirit, going insane.
The grieving goes on, hurting your soul;
Messing your mind and taking its toll.

The ache that you feel invades your dark dreams;
And begs you to wonder, "what does this mean?"
Life does go on in spite of it all;
God's help is near if you just heed the call.
