Purple... Purple;

*I feel that people may misinterpret this poem; This is not my own personal struggle, and does not represent the way I feel. This is merely a poetic parody of an actual suicide note. Most actual poems about suicide aggravate me, and I find them pathetic and stupid. I apologize if any of you felt the same way about this work.*

It's not often that I find myself at a loss
for words.
...

In this empty lot
Where children smile
And linger,
Empty, icy hands
...

I

Confusion of what things might come after
Her smile went dim and loving arms grew cold

Lose me inside
A hi-hat or ride,
Barely legible lyrics,
An insistent melody,

When revealed and then reviled,
You could almost hear her
Think.
She, concealed and so beguiled,

In context:
Meaning,
Feeling
Nothing.

Call it a soul-
Your conscience-
Your sole penance
Remains whole
...

With the mirror breaking
Crying, sick and aching-
Its reflective, glassy throat.
And the ashes feel like water
...

Secrets were always,
(if perhaps not intended)
Meant to be retold.

Loneliness laughs,
And coughs
Up a bit of lung.
(Excuse me!)

In the spindly

Spiraling...

In the heralding vastness
Of the castle!
There is austerity;

It is the thing you offer.
With a golden ribbon;
You package

Read and rejoice, read and weep, these cumbersome words that trouble my sleep. May you find an easeful rest in every tear... In every jest.)

Purple... Purple

Purple... Purple;
Such a beautiful
Color-
You wore it with clever
Intentions to lull her.
Purple... Purple;
You knew it was my favorite.
Purple... Purple;
You'd chuckle as you'd brave it.

Ever... Ever;
You promised
Your heart-
She charmed and disarmed you
Before you could start.
Ever... Ever;
You'd drown in your tears.
Ever... Ever;
Though she'd fade with years.

Smiling... Smiling;
I'd never
Forget-
That smile above that purple
Before you'd regret.
Smiling... Smiling;
You'd smile for her.
Smiling... Smiling;
Dying, though you were.

Never... Never;
I left with
No pause-
Your wallowing sickness gave me
Plenty cause.
Never... Never;
You seem far away.
Never... Never;
Despite what you'd say.

Pity... Pity;
I lost all
For you-
Pity... Pity;
What one girl
Can do.
