Mother, why do Dad and Grand mom taunt me for being a girl?
At you and me, abuses they hurl!
Why do they say I have to die?
I am all the more frightened, when I hear you cry.
With each passing day, the brawl is getting traumatic
Inside your womb, I cringe in fear, tremble, and panic.
…but Mother, I too want to come into this beautiful world.
Your open arms, the blue skies are waiting for me, I am told.
My eyes open to the first sunshine; my tiny body withers in pain.
In the street, next to the trash bin, I am lain.
