Sumanth Mukkala Poems

As time ran afar,
I scamper towards a bar
with cramped hands and feet,
like a broken Gazelle runnin' away from it's predator,
...

For those eyes that peek right into my soul -
I comeback,
to let them tear through my heart,
to tell me
...

As I feel the tingles
in the tips of my fingers,
I begin to open my eyes,
to notice the morning shine
...

A livewire bearing a bright smile,
walked into Caffe Driade with ethereal style,
with a twinkle in the eye,
and a nose ring to magnify

Blissful Chaos

As time ran afar,
I scamper towards a bar
with cramped hands and feet,
like a broken Gazelle runnin' away from it's predator,

I enter the tavern full of people
bawling at their screens,
cheering on their favorite
ball wielding machines,
while tearing their food into smithereens,
and spilling beer
all over their workman jeans.

I tread slowly through the volatile crowd
ready to bungle,
probing for a quiet seat
in this theatrical jungle,
I spin around to notice
a pair of shimmering eyes,
shining their gaze across the aisle
looking for allies.

They stutter around and refocus
to match my sight, accompanied by
a nervous smile inducing
a subtle show of internal delight.

I pan out to embrace the visual splendor
of this charming frame, as she
shuffles her bangs, waves her hand
like a stuttering flame.

I amble across with amusement
waving back with a shaky palm,
as she awaits to greet my presence as "HI! ! " with grace and calm.

As my heart beats swift,
and my intense passion lit,
I lead her to a table through a clamoring flock, for an inquisitive TALK.

With no chill to realize and no hark to reprise
at the bar, she turns to me and says
"Can WE leave here and go outside for a nice little WALK? "
