The River

Making great shapes in our
created mess

We walked to the edge and back
so often
our dreams took us
there

River flowing
into invisible valley
twisting and turning.

We fell out
and then in again,
with a kiss
or a text
or a look.

Knowing we would
find our river again
this valley
or the next -
all tributaries
led this way.
