The Forest Poem by Suzanne KendalMorgan

The Forest

Abandoning both hope
and fear
they crawled
into the dense forest -

creeping and grasping
finding silence in the
screaming echo
of the empty night,
where rules
have melted.

They strayed
erring
yet unwavering,

skeletal branches
reached out through their path
pulling them further in
then

as the light rose

a quiet unseen path
unfolded
through the darkness.
