Lost In The Rhythm: A Solitary Night In The Club

In the night Club…

I sit here alone, in this dark room
My heart stuned, shrouded in gloom
I wish to join the party, make fun and dance
But my mind wanders, lost in a trance

The music is loud, but I hear no sound
My feet are still, firmly on the ground
People around me, laughing and smiling
But in my heart, I'm still crying

I wish I could be like them, carefree and light
But I'm caged in this darkness, all alone tonight
I long for love, for someone to hold
But instead, I'm left out in the cold

Maybe someday, I'll find my way
Out of this sadness, into the light of day
Until then, I'll sit here alone
In the club, but not being part of the zone…
