End Of The Affair
End of the affair, a bitter sweet fading memory
Awakening the mind, and all things sensory
Entering into the fray, risks abounded from the start
Confounded by deep emotions, tearing my soul apart
Always left in the dark, caught in a love triangle
Finally caste-off, like some outmoded fandangle
Forgiveness is my virtue, intellect is my design
But reality bites hard, no more floating on cloud nine
My need for love is often greater than its want
But the reservoir of desire is no more in this font
End of the affair, time to move ahead
