Shortcuts

I embarked on a voyage to a vast and distant land
Of which demand thorough persistence,
I learnt of means to circumvent it all round
A way of making the journey less-tensed.

I silenced my inner vocal judgement
Which says, 'this shortcut leads to no where '
And subdued my inherent conscience tenets
For an expeditious means to get there.

Gullible me, I know nothing about vanity
So, they deceived me to buy a pie with a penny
Oblivion that less effort put into vanity will definitely amount to nothing.
Well, at the end I lost more than my earning.

Thank God I trod the avaricious path
Even though, it's painful, yet I had no regrets
I learnt that true wealth only comes from hardwork
And Seeking after quick riches often results to penitence.
