From a tiny seed dropped by a bird, I grew
Into immeasurable size with a verdant crown

regal like an empress

Wan and weary,
In sultry heat,
He walked on and on
Through the dust and dirt

Her bright eyes grew dim
Her ruddy cheeks grew pale
Her face like a dented kitchenware
Now a symbol of blighted loveliness
...

Close to our ancestral home
Is an ancient champak tree
It now stands almost leafless n’ bare
With its face turned to the sun and sky
...

I am a tree
Sprouted at the backyard
When I am full of leaves
Humans, for shade, come to me
