Tristan King Poems

In the soft sounds of silence I wait
Blue silk billows in the wind
Time endless or illusion stops
As all I know falls quietly and singular -
...

In compartments you kept them,
All your pretty things
Like toys kept in their boxes
Some still unwrapped
...

To the Universe I sing
Tonight's alright in Lonely Town
The Cricket's song calms my dreams
When nothing else can
...

In This Life

In the soft sounds of silence I wait
Blue silk billows in the wind
Time endless or illusion stops
As all I know falls quietly and singular -
into a silver tear I am unable to hold onto
In my mind
I trace the lines of your face with a finger-tip
Feel your heart-beat strong and your warmth
Alive, Alive
In a world without words you become all-knowing
You see what went un-noticed in this Life
what was overlooked.
You acknowledge that which was hidden
just below the surface of a smile
You see the sheer depths of sorrow and loss
You finally see me.
