To ashes burn

Son of a thousand fathers
The gloom that hunts the cradle
Breaker of mothers
By mischief of forces primordial

Outside,
The heavens break
A torrent is unleashed
Deep within,

My bones, weary
Heavy like a tombstone
Engraved in bold
My lore that made my mold,
...

My roof is in flames
Too wild to make tame
By the bulk of a masculine frame
Of once acclaimed fame
...

Lets not flame so high
And forget our ends so nigh
Lets crouch closer to earth
To feel more intense
...

Away time slips
And off human flesh
Youth is stripped
Still greying memories
...

Where love once flourished
Now only memories
Like the smoky ashes
The only remembrance
...

Sky goes dark with night
As one struck with fright
Coils in a corner in flight
So light is put out of sight
...

Who knows where the tide flows
Or where the wind blows
Who knows how the grass grows
Or the secrets of the baboon's brow
