Waliur Rahman Poems

Let's play a game
Of courtships once again.
Wooing like stranger I press upon you
With intend of intimate emotions
...

Autumn breeze makes everything pale
The ship is drowned which once had set sail
Alone I wait for my day deed and sin
...

Who is the third who creeps in between you and I in the intimate hour of our oneness.

I see a shadow crawling in between with dark desires cuddling you in the phantom arms,
Pushing me aside to loop and lumber in grief.
...

Lying on the same divan
Topple sided, face away from face
No words exchanged, no touch felt
The clock struck three
...

In the darkest hour of the day, her smile lightens.
In the most intimate hours, I see her lost in unsaid thoughts.
In the gleams of mirror, her blinding glaze contours a different countenance
Of faces which are so unfamiliar and yet resemble a face which I once knew.

Let's Play A Game

Let's play a game
Of courtships once again.
Wooing like stranger I press upon you
With intend of intimate emotions
And you like a Greek Bride of Beautiful Arrogance
Reject my petition of selfless love

I shall pursue you with a bleeding heart
You in turn take some droplets of the red henna
Applying to mystify your unending charm
And my bosom channels the red red water
Priceless to me but unworthy of
Your acceptance

My heart bleeds once again
I lie upon the thorn of rejection
Cruel fate shall soon consume
My undying desire with me.

...

Ah don't weep on my one last plea
This is just a game we must play again.
Here rejection doesn't matter much.
For in life we have enacted acceptance as masquerade.
So it doesn't matter much.
Does it?
