and, though NOT 'pure', she wore white.
She would have eloped if I'd had MY way;
I'd rather have been flying …. a damn kite.

BECAUSE if he loves another guy, and they decide to say 'I do', ……

Chapter 40
[Sheila speaks]:
When Cliff first visited my home, no one dared to ask:
“When will you get married? ” It looked as though it was MY task.

I don't know what couples say now as they get married.
I suppose, over the ‘ages', it has …..somewhat varied.
'With this ring I thee wed' …..comes to my mind right now.
But, I'm not sure it was part of any of my (four-marriage) ‘vows'.

In less than 2 weeks it's number 5 with my dear wife number four.
I've had twenty wedding anniversaries, maybe even more.
And if my current wife were to read this, our fifth could be our last.....since
if she knew I referred to her as number 4, she would surely be aghast.

Weddings are often followed by parties at which bands play.
But, here, "Band" is a wedding ring, which is one of the ways …
you can tell people are married; it's an outward sign.
And if a partner removes their band, perhaps NOT all is fine …
