POEM OF THE DAY
Love's Philosophy

The fountains mingle with the river,
And the rivers with the ocean;
The winds of heaven mix forever
With a sweet emotion;
Nothing in the world is single;
All things by a law divine
In another's being mingle-
Why not I with thine?

See, the mountains kiss high heaven,
And the waves clasp one another;
No sister flower could be forgiven
If it disdained its brother;
And the sunlight clasps the earth,
And the moonbeams kiss the sea; -
What are all these kissings worth,
If thou kiss not me?

There Is Another Sky

There is another sky,
Ever serene and fair,
And there is another sunshine,
Though it be darkness there;
Never mind faded forests, Austin,
Never mind silent fields—
Here is a little forest,
Whose leaf is ever green;
Here is a brighter garden,
Where not a frost has been;

When We Love

Falling in love is unlikely to like,
Given rise to beautiful thoughts.
Opening mind's blocked files,
Where the thoughts are lot.

The heart melts,
On the hot pan of love.
But the odour is not smell,
Where the face automatically glow.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

Ignorance, just like genius, is a powerful thing - it can level mountains!

POEM OF THE DAY
Summer Sun

Great is the sun, and wide he goes
Through empty heaven with repose;
And in the blue and glowing days
More thick than rain he showers his rays.

Though closer still the blinds we pull
To keep the shady parlour cool,
Yet he will find a chink or two
To slip his golden fingers through.

The dusty attic spider-clad
He, through the keyhole, maketh glad;
And through the broken edge of tiles
Into the laddered hay-loft smiles.

Meantime his golden face around
He bares to all the garden ground,
And sheds a warm and glittering look
Among the ivy's inmost nook.

Above the hills, along the blue,
Round the bright air with footing true,
To please the child, to paint the rose,
The gardener of the World, he goes.

My Heart's In The Highlands

Farewell to the Highlands, farewell to the North,
The birth-place of Valour, the country of Worth;
Wherever I wander, wherever I rove,
The hills of the Highlands for ever I love.

My heart's in the Highlands, my heart is not here;
My heart's in the Highlands a-chasing the deer;
A-chasing the wild-deer, and following the roe,
My heart's in the Highlands wherever I go.

Stay Alive For Me

If I go, if I slip away,
Promise me you'll live each day.
Eat your meals, get your sleep,
Hold your heart, but do not weep.
Pretend like nothing ever changed,
Like my absence is just rearranged.

Act as though I never was,
Forget the pain, forget the cause.
You'll find someone better, you'll see,

QUOTE OF THE DAY

The problem with being a gifted writer in Kenya is that you have many half-schooled editors who have no taste for literary works, and will hence have problems having your works published. I don't write to meet the wizened expectations of a Moi University graduate in Information Science, folks who cannot recall anything worth reading they've ever read. An editor should be a literary enthusiast, if not a writer themselves.

POEM OF THE DAY
The Early Morning

The moon on the one hand, the dawn on the other:
The moon is my sister, the dawn is my brother.
The moon on my left and the dawn on my right.
My brother, good morning: my sister, good night.

A Baby's Cradle With No Baby In It

A baby's cradle with no baby in it,
A baby's grave where autumn leaves drop sere;
The sweet soul gathered home to Paradise,
The body waiting here.

Resilience In Adversity

During the hardest times I froze,
My heart just tried to never lose hope,
Though my mind just as resilient,
During times when body stood defiant,

With not much left to choose,
So I fought to never lose,
And bring glory even if I become distant.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

Life is for living, not for taking care of for no mortal can guarantee its continuity.
