POEM OF THE DAY
To The First Born

WELCOME, welcome, little stranger,
Fear no harm, and fear no danger;
We are glad to see you here,
For you sing 'Sweet Spring is near.'

Now the white snow melts away;
Now the flowers blossom gay:
Come dear bird and build your nest,
For we love our robin best.

POEM OF THE DAY - MODERN POEM
The Gypsy Girl

'Come, try your skill, kind gentlemen,
A penny for three tries!'
Some threw and lost, some threw and won
A ten-a-penny prize.

She was a tawny gypsy girl,
A girl of twenty years,
I liked her for the lumps of gold
That jingled from her ears;

Last Station

Death — that door, that sudden, silent invitation.
There is no fear, no violence —
only peace, only tired surrender.

It is like the first soft bed
after years of walking a road of stones.
Before reaching it, there is noise inside you,
restlessness…
but suddenly — calmness.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

Imagination, which in truth Is but another name for absolute power And clearest insight, amplitude of mind, And reason, in her most exalted mood.

POEM OF THE DAY - MODERN POEM
Love Poem

Speak earth and bless me with what is richest
make sky flow honey out of my hips
rigis mountains
spread over a valley
carved out by the mouth of rain.

And I knew when I entered her I was
high wind in her forests hollow
fingers whispering sound
honey flowed

Knock...

Every knock on the door,
Makes my heart beat,
You will come to the doorstep,
The eyes hope,

These anonymous winds of mine,
It is said in the ears,
I have touched him and come,
whose memories haunt you,

QUOTE OF THE DAY

Not always life comes the way you want it. But you turn that way you want after holding it in your hands.

POEM OF THE DAY
Peace

Sweet Peace, where dost thou dwell? I humbly crave,
Let me once know.
I sought thee in a secret cave,
And ask'd, if Peace were there,
A hollow wind did seem to answer, No:
Go seek elsewhere.

I did; and going did a rainbow note:
Surely, thought I,
This is the lace of Peace's coat:
I will search out the matter.
But while I looked the clouds immediately
Did break and scatter.

Then went I to a garden and did spy
A gallant flower,
The crown-imperial: Sure, said I,
Peace at the root must dwell.
But when I digged, I saw a worm devour
What showed so well.

At length I met a rev'rend good old man;
Whom when for Peace

I did demand, he thus began:
There was a Prince of old
At Salem dwelt, who lived with good increase
Of flock and fold.

He sweetly lived; yet sweetness did not save

If you know how to set the tunes, life will learn to dance on it.
