A Bedtime Story - Poem by Paul Vincent Shimizu

Please, mother, read me a bedtime story
I will do anything you ask me to
Open a good book and read it to me
I promise to give you a kiss or two

Please, oh please, mother,
That's all I ask of you
Please, oh please, mother,
Please don't make me feel blue

It's the only thing that I want to end the day
Before Mister Sandman comes to take me away

I will follow everything you say
My dear mother, I'll have it your way

Please, mother, read me a good bedtime story
Please know, mother, it would mean a lot to me

Excellent poem shared here. While mother opens a good book and reads a beautiful story to teach moral values we feel so amazing and special. Nice tribute to mother in memory. ....10. (Report) Reply
