A Brand New Day Poem by Michael P. Johnson

A Brand New Day

Your righteousness let no one doubt
Its grace, through Christ my Son
Although the world may twist and shout
Life's race will not be won

The Truth will stand and nothing less
True love will wear a crown
Who practice these; The Lord will bless
All else will crumble down

A fresh new day will soon be born
Where enemies run free
But who on earth will bless the dawn?
What woman's child will see?

Most hearts have grown as hard as stone
Most necks are stiff as iron
Churches serve God with mouth alone
And think they're of The Vine

Is God a fool that fails to see?
Did Jesus die for nought?
Why don't you live as I decree?
Not as a whore who's bought

Make no mistake that's what you are
Carousing through the night
If when your heart from Christ is far
Your Satan's cheap delight

Wake up; before the day is through
Repent; change now your course
Rise up begin your life anew
Reject the devil's source

I've loved you from the very start
I made your form with love
Come soften now your stony heart
And join with Christ above.....
