You hold dear onto the warmth of your father’s embrace,
As you gracefully sweep mournful tears off your face.
For all the joy and bittersweet shared together,
Thus and so, love he rendered will last forever.
His time has come, but even though he has perished,
Still, his remembrance will be forevermore cherished.
Now God shall lay his body down to rest,
And his soul may rise heavenward, where he is blessed.
Although in our hearts, still filled with wistfulness,
He is now free from agony and weakness.
Peacefully he is now, hence one mustn’t dwell,
The unforgettable devotion relived by a father’s farewell
