A fool's paradise

A fool's paradise
Is something to go back to
Every night we turn away
From a fool's hell
Where we have chased shadows
All day long
Sometimes watched with scorn by others
Chasing other shadows
Others have stopped chasing;
Under the trees the trunk,
Branches and leaves
Turn into shadow
Patches of night
For the foot-weary to turn in
Keep the sun away
Till the moon
A shadow of the sun
Rises with a fool's grin.

Poem of the Day

poet Christopher Marlowe

It lies not in our power to love or hate,
For will in us is overruled by fate.
When two are stripped, long ere the course begin,
We wish that one should love, the other win;
