I can't give you a home I can't ungrieve your pain I can't take all the roots Of your native soil And try to make them grow Into this foreign lawn
I can't bring you the help I'd like you to hold close I can't silent distress But can't let you fall down
Tell me, my friend, don't lie, Can there still be a friend's aim If all one can do is sigh Hearing your racking homeless heart?
What kind of friend am I If your pain I cannot allay If your heart I cannot repair If your eyes I cannot unveil If your smile I cannot make bright?
Tell me, darling, think twice What is it I can do To blow the blues from you?

This one is very personal to me, because it speaks dirrect, I too have felt that I have let a friend down, pushed them away, feeling that it was for their own good, as to whether is was only time will tell, but I do think that we need to move forward
