I enjoy the use of almost strange phrasing in this poem. I think this poem is about dreaming and imagining only to feel the gravity of life and reality pulling you back into the 'realness'of life. The bird is always the symbol of escape or of spirit in the Jungian analysis. The egg is the sense of inadequacy or lack of confidence which contains the fledgling who must leave the protection of nacent life and make its way on the winds which are unpredictable but soaring is joy and adventure and the egg must be left behind in order to experience the program of life which is always nearing its end and closer to the ultimate. In other words we must (you must) live in order to discover the limitless sky.
