Psaltydog's Thoughts

A Quarter There, A Quarter Gone

A quarter there, a quarter gone
Hear the Psalmist’s song
A rod and staff leads your journey on
Comforted through joy or hell, right or wronged

Beware the wise of man
His thoughts change from day to day
Turn about and embrace scarred hands
With words that shall never pass away

Grace is here, grace abounds
Be not smug by durable patience
There’ll come a time when grace is gone
Cold dark loneliness in His absence

Avoid the lure of the masses
Ten million wrongs don’t make a right
And if a trusted one should fail you
Don't turn away in spite

This life we live is but a speck in time
Eternity is everlasting
Grasp the only Hope for redemption
Reconciliation for the asking

Poem of the Day

poet George Gordon Byron

It is the hour when from the boughs
The nightingale's high note is heard;
It is the hour -- when lover's vows
Seem sweet in every whisper'd word;
And gentle winds and waters near,
