Wow. This poem has excellent depth. It is a really invigorating piece to read. As I interpreted the piece, it seemed there is a historical background imbedded in the second layer. The entire second stanza reminds me of Hapgood's reasoning for Atlantis' existence, and then disappearance. The last stanza, as I interpreted, has a metaphorical comparison to Siddartha's idea of attaining Nirvana.
