A Solemn Separation
My shadow sits beside me shivering
As night's darkness descends- desperately
I try to stop her limbs from quivering
But an obscured beast beckons- hopelessly
She closes her eyes and takes her last breath
I alone will remain when she's gone
My tears form puddles, she drowns to death
How can I navigate darkness alone?
Worst nightmares combined don't amount to this
Since birth, I have never not known my shadow
She has never not been my little sis
Together we entered, apart we go
My sister, in your shadow I now stand
I promise to make my exit as grand

This is truly a super write, the allegory of your sister being something of yourself was truly poignant and your affection has contributed a great write of rich imagery that first stanza is nearly burnt in my mind with its perfection, with the whole perfection.
