I found pain sitting on the street Alone and afraid, Found dead on bended knee Appearing as if praying, Another lost in a world gone mad The only lights from the midnight stars, Until death do us part Another broken heart. Well I drank it all away like the day before, Waiting for it to come again, and knock on my door, All alone and afraid I sit down on a stool, Trying to find a place to hide, with all the other fools. The air seemed to be on fire in the neon lights, And the homeless man begging for change is a pitiful sight, I think about what could've been and of what we are, My only true memories are shown by my scars. I found pain sitting on the street Alone and afraid, Found dead on bended knee Appearing as if praying, Another lost in a world gone mad With lights from oncoming cars, Until death do us part, Another broken heart. The wind blew over the old oak tree And it landed down on Maine, And the flashing lights from the police cars Were shivering in pain, Another day another drink Thats how its always been, Now I'm just waiting for Today to end.
