Amazing Moments

Didn't tell him
he is the reason
that I keep hanging on
didn't tell the most recent story
about him
because it's still going on
didn't say how it matters
to successfully care for my kids
a position not looked down upon
that even my superiors respect
didn't tell him when I'm at my worst
his expectations make me reach a little more
or that in the realm we go
doesn't matter what I did before
didn't tell him that his help
and his view of the world is strength
and the thought of disappointing him
kills me more
than the thought of disappointing me

Poem of the Day

poet William Butler Yeats

WINE comes in at the mouth
And love comes in at the eye;
That's all we shall know for truth
Before we grow old and die.
