Giorgio Veneto (Athens, Greece)
Among all Gifts
Among all gifts I chose the Fate of death,
I was my destiny's last fare's sinner;
Atropos smilingly, became my friend;
a deathly finite game with no winner;
Fate Atropos waited on crossroad's fork;
under the cemetery bells, she gloomed,
and joined with me in fog, meanwhile her work,
was to disrupt the life's last twine on loom;
Among all gifts I chose her heart of death,
her apparel in dreams, was my glimmer,
my parachute didn't open above earth,
I lifted high in mists with Fate's shimmer;
Sovereign deep woods and life's excursions;
She blessed me in Black Pines, and then, unreal,
doomed soul I was in twine's odd dimensions;
on roads of emptiness, to walk and feel.
Among all things I chose her heart of death,
in Hades world nothingness proved but real,
the marionettes around a frozen hearth,
her glare on route with me along my kill.
