An Exile - Poem by vijay chitale

The days that are no more
Are the days that matter most
To me-a person who looks back
And pines for what is not

' Les reves sont la meilleure partie
De la vie'-is said of dreams
To me recollections of past things
Are dearer than such dreams

I moan the mistakes I did
And the talents I left half-nursed
Though golden chance and loving guidance
Were there for me in abundance

' Oh God, if there be God
Save my soul if there be soul'
Lift me back to those youthful days
To make me a paragon in many ways

To me my Music kindly return
To me my Love and Smile
Sans which the world appears to me
A long long Exile.

This is a prayer, which is not a difficult one for God to grant. (Report) Reply
