This is a majestically written poem in a beautiful form. I cannot attest to those naysayers below. Every line, indeed every word is perfectly placed - and couldn't possibly be replaced. The content so alive - so wondrously wrapped into my conscious that I did not even notice the form upon first read. The A-C-a-c- and B-D-b-d are both marvelous and invisible. Very well done, and rather spooky.... Exceedingly Poe like..... (Report) Reply

Only four stanzas of this poem are readable. For rest i do not think it is adding any beauty. But four stanzas are super complex of your imagination (Report) Reply

    what's with be in Gazed I on that braz'n be? ? , , , , , , , , being? beast?

i like it. i like the ryming, and the unique arrangement of words to save words and help make rhymes. i like the contractions and repetition of stanza-ending line.

To free captivity....this throws me a bit.
i at least don't mind the repetition of death, nature, fear, and angel, but it makes me think you may have been getting paid per word!

i read something from google about you. someone (some professor?) said you are a god-believer or somethin', but 'he' also said that your poem indicates that you fear death. i wonder if you ever told anyone that you fear death. hmmm? you can tell us!

i find it interesting that i (and others) jump to the not-so-based-on-fact conclusion that a poem portrays the author's life or beliefs. it could be that a poem is totally unlike the author. i have to remind myself of this sometimes.

Very good poem. Fear carries one through the poem without breath. I wish there was some realization or personification of the angel's character. I liked this poem, please read some of mine! (Report) Reply

Amongst the flowers I
am alone with my pot of wine
drinking by myself; then lifting
my cup I asked the moon
to drink with me, its reflection
and mine in the wine cup, just
