Angel's Light

Wind like hands upon my skin
Softest touch that’s ever been
With closing eyes I fall from grace
To wake in this unfathomed place

Glaring eyes flooded with doubt
Can no one hear my frantic shout?
This empty road with diminished light
Is where I fell that distant night

I had been chosen to be brave
There’s night to light and lives to save
A fallen tear for what I knew
The life I bid a fair adieu

Down the winding road I went
With Heaven now to represent
The distant stars now shining bright
To guide my journey that dark night

poet Sara Teasdale

"Oh Day of Fire and Sun"
by Sara Teasdale

Oh day of fire and sun,
Pure as a naked flame,
Blue sea, blue sky and dun
Sands where he spoke my name;

Laughter and hearts so high
That the spirit flew off free,
