Beautiful Distraction - Poem by Lauren B Called

He's parked out front I see
I tell myself it's not because of me
but it feels like a lie

drive on through tears I pray
Lord help me keep on my way
still my heart asks why

and the sun beats down
reflects off the snow
beautiful distraction from
the pull of you so close

the sermon speaks to my soul
must be why I had to go
thoughts of him feathered in

pray them away what does it mean
I'm a hypocrite or he's thought of me
can't tell from where I'm sitting

and the music plays
I sing the words
beautiful distraction when
turning from you hurts
