BESIEGED OF THE TORMENT…

BESIEGED OF THE TORMENT…

Muhammad Hameed Shahid

I am like the

Sacrificial lamb,

Which before the appointed hour,

Dreams of scintillating edges of knives

Under the cruel premonition of fear

Yellow dots have combined to

Cover my whole body

I have been stuffing my hellish belly,

Thoughtlessly,

With morsels of untoward occurrences

Wrapped cozily

In the mist of future

Would that;

My slumber, along with dreams,

Is snapped off in a rage,

And I,

Bereft of the sense of premonition,

May have rendezvous with,

Complete peace and tranquility,

With unavoidable destiny

Nevertheless,

Hovering shadows of death,

The shackled body,

And my clamped soul

Make this possibility far and few between

How, if I

Pass through the process of cleansing,

Accidents aborting in my hypochondrium,

I stride on

The shadowy pathway of composure
