Bitter-Sweet Memories

If you ever ask me to move on
I'd take every piece of me along
I'll mark each tree I walk pass
Never again will I travel this path

Bitter-sweet memories I'll remember
But I'll be the first to forget you
Sweet words you say to me I'll smile at
But your hateful words I will forgive

You're not worth the pain
I'll do just fine without you
And I want you to know that
I'll never hate you for hurting me

Maybe I was too blind to see you
The way you are; but I am strong
enough to leave you; and when I do
I'll never to look back, not for once

Again bitter-sweet memories may bring
Me tears; but I do not cry for you
I cry because I am free from you
I cry because I am living again

And a day will come when I will
Look back and said to myself
How did you do that
Well, I'll just smile and keep the peace

Poem of the Day

poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth, good will to men.
