Lawrence S. Pertillar (February/'47 / Connecticut, USA)
Blessed With Extraordinary Patience
I get tired of hearing grown folks complain,
About their mamas and papas...
And how they were incorrectly raised,
To blame their parents for the choices they've made.
As if this gives them a reason,
To be irresponsible and unaccountable...
For conscious actions they were awake to take,
As they solicit and squeeze empathy...
From anyone who dares to waste their time,
Proving to themselves...
God has them blessed with extraordinary patience.
