Confession To The Liberty
Liberty, thou art the greatest gift
Of the God, upon men His blessing.
At thy appearance, came the feast
With granduer, the Country in new dressing
Renew the Mother became, and hearts, minds.
Some great souls, devoted for the sake of thy arrival, adored
But, oh! thou art again by us likely now removed.
Thousands of great souls plunged to bring you
And martyr they had been in the trench long scooped
They left their carnal bodies, letting their Lands be new
Slavery, bondage, once prevailing, now before them stoopped
Dreams of their golden eyes are today real
Liberty, earned once, makes our Country grand
Our society lively, though we are whether in heaven or in hell.
Liberty, thou art the trophy, extreme, ever conquered
The brave souls wrote thy name with their red blood
And, as if thine ship by them is well anchored,
We will give to thee survival, if again comes the flood
Though of some pretence, hypocrisy thou thoughtfull.
And though clouds gather over head, in heaven
Must we see your existence rather beautiful.
