Death To The Heart Poem by cassidy lorent

Death To The Heart

''Everyone is holding their heart in their hands to another, or more. Everyone else will be holding daggers in the palm of their hand, with her fingers coiled around it tightly. When you hold out your fragile, contracting heart.. be aware of this: Everyone has a dagger, but it all just matters n how they're going to use it. You will have some who will bury the blade right into it; don't trust them again. There will be others who turn around with that dagger and hold it out to anyone who approaches; Be careful of them. Then you have the last and final few, who are a dying breed, who will lay down the dagger to the ground in front of you and shield your heart with their bare hands.. those are the ones.. you are in search for. Don't expect, however.. or you will only be living your life on false hopes..''
