Earthen Jar

  Fill my cup, oh Lord,
and let your brightness flow
through the many cracks
in this simple earthen jar
that I may be a “sparkle”
to the eyes of men.

And when they ask how it is
that common clay glistens,
your light shining through me
as I am,
will not draw men to the vessel
... but to the light that is within.
