Even If I'm No Longer Yours, and Your no Longer MIne.

Soon the time will come
Ill be just an old memory
We will belong to the past
Nothing but a Teenage love tragedy

Ill hold you tight right now
Wanting nothing more than to freeze time
To forever be yours
And you forever mine

But time will take its tole
We will go our separate ways
It may be next week, maybe a month from now
We may only have two hours or 365 days

I don't want our end to come
So ill hold you and close my eyes tight
Ill be strong
I wont cry tonight

I wont bring you down upon my mood
Ill show you you will be fine
Even if I'm no longer yours
And your no longer mine

I especially like the last stanza, Rivers: a nobility that shows the self-sacrificial nature of proper love, with a maturity shown in the rest of the poem that recognises the transitory nature of such feelings. Well done! 10 (Report) Reply
