Psaltydog's Thoughts

Farewell Butterfly Blue

My life is changed by a butterfly
Whose wings are as soft as a cloudy sky
Blue satin wings that thrill my heart
Haunting my soul while we’re apart

The words we speak seem hard to hear
They soon vanish in a butterfly year
To convey what our two hearts feel
Seems lost in time and becomes surreal

Yet, I know she would never be mine
For all hope seemed lost in a span of time
And who could tally the enormous cost
If at this crossroad we fail to cross

Now, for you who would find this butterfly
Don’t cage her in, she was born to fly
Just kiss her smile and dry her tears
She’ll return your love and still your fears

To my butterfly blue, I set you free
Hoping you’ll always remember me
Always remember, as I close this door
Only God could love you more

It little profits that an idle king,
By this still hearth, among these barren crags,
Match'd with an aged wife, I mete and dole
Unequal laws unto a savage race,
