Nicholas Nikolov (April.6,1988 / Toronto)
Fire Flickers
The deep darkness of the notorious night
is blanketed by the sparkling shimmering stars
as the sound of the benevolent bomb-bursting beating simultaneously
with the rapid sound of tip-tapping, which was delightfully
detonated by the drummer
and accompanied amazingly by the flattering flutter
of the flute and the bellowing Kaba bagpipe.
The last few remaining prevalent prestige's performers dance a type
of a specific extravagant energetic enthusiastic
movements masterfully mirroring each other to the melodic
rhythms astonishingly acutely around
as the performers dance and stomp they quake the ground;
the blazing hot gentile-burning blessed embers
gorgeously glimmer. From time-to-time the daring dancers
delicately dash across in a zooming zigzag, whilst waving iconic
symbols of soulful saints and the most holiest Christian relic.
Proceeding this prevalent pagan ritual
is indeed of the same significance as a historic memorial
as both the townsfolk and the fondly fascinated foreigners
celebrate celestially in a fabulous game of follow-the-leader
harmoniously hand-in-hand full of jubilant joyful enjoyment
stunning snake-like slithering parting, from much to the amusement
of the highly characteristic circular closed formation.
