Ghar sey chale toh the maikhane ko - Ghazal

Ghar se chale toh the maikhane ko
mil gaye sheikhji lage samjhane ko

Paaye hain humne rindon sey ye mashware
Gina nahi karte yahan paimane ko

Kab tak rokoge mujhe aur hoga kya haasil
aaen hai yahan hum bhi toh kabhi jaane ko

Phir khade hain sar jhukae dar par tere
Phir paaya hai tooney mauka hume satane ko

Na utha waaiz maikhane se sahar hone tak
Hae kitne chhupa rakhe the raaz batane ko

Ashk na rahe aankhon mein magar ab bhi
Badan mein lahu bahot hai bahane ko

Ek zarra hoon khaak-e-ku-e-yaar mein nihaan
Kyun dhunde hai woh phir mujhe mitane ko

Jiyega tere vade par aaj kyunkar Talab
Aaya hai kab tujhe pyaar jatane ko

poet Walt Whitman

ARM’D year! year of the struggle!
No dainty rhymes or sentimental love verses for you, terrible year!
Not you as some pale poetling, seated at a desk, lisping cadenzas
