Haven't you heard?

Our V.P shotgunned his hunting buddy
thought he was a bird
Missing teen confirmed dead
Haven't you heard?
News at eleven
All the good children won't be goin up to heaven
That's assured
There's flooding all along river roads
Mudslides washin away heavy loads
1300 drown on ferry boat barge
The poor get more of nothin while the rich live large
Village gone
buried deep
under mud, rock and sand
Can't move on up to Canada without a hundred grand.
The Chinese have launched a man up in space
Our world's gettin to be a crowded place
Shrimp boat smashed up on rough rocky cove
W. sold his XYZ's to Carl Rove
Newscaster's tellin us great big lies
Bossman gets a tummy ache, and everybody cries
That's the word
what haven't you heard?

Poem of the Day

poet Christopher Marlowe

It lies not in our power to love or hate,
For will in us is overruled by fate.
When two are stripped, long ere the course begin,
We wish that one should love, the other win;
