Heartbreak Night - Poem by Nicholas Nikolov

It truly has been a spectacular
short while being in love with you. Regrettably,
disparity has taken over. Yet amidst the sadness, my love
for you strangely lasts, whether you choose to feel or not.
All of the discomfort, I have and caused you, was created
by the shattering words that were profoundly hurtful,
which hastily protruded in your speech;
blackened deeply,
the belief in my trust - yet, at the same time -
I have perpetrated the very same evil
towards you as well. Stifling treachery
were in the words I spoke to you. Such words,
my delicate flower, neither should have ever heard
nor should have ever been spoken; trust is hugely integral.
Sadly, however, the sorrow of my broken heart is true,
not for the words which you preached, more so, for mine.
Shockingly, I contemplated the ending
our glorious relationship, and yet,
what is far more astonishing is that you still want
me to share your life. I am positively sure we both feel
that our dream of being together is just that, I bet,
a dream that beckons and is at the forefront
of never going to be the real deal;
in other words, materialize.
Your soul-hurting tears of grand sorrow
flooded my soul tremendously,
Indeed, I am suffering from major fright, until tomorrow,
where your love was vibrantly joyful
and boisterous, shall turnover for the worst when you awake.
