Hold Me Close

Hold me close my darling,
there's no need for you to cry.
My life has meaning and happiness,
and your the reason why.
You ask how can I love you,
and you feel you let me down.
You say you wouldn't blame me,
if I were to mess around.
You cry because you worry,
that things are not ok for me.
You ask me why I stick around,
when I could walk out and be free.
Love is not an option,
it's a feeling unexplained.
It totally consumes you,
and holds on without refrain.
It's an overwhelming comfort,
a connection of two souls.
A sweet embrace within the heart,
that never will let go.
I'll hold you close my darling,
I'll dry your falling tears.
I'll always be here by your side,
to calm your every fear.
Why are you crying darling?
you're everything to me.
I love you more than life itself,
and I'm proud that you love me.
If you leave this world before me,
will you walk away real slow?
Will you wait for me to join you,
or will you hurry up and go?
I won't be far behind you,
you won't have to wait too long.
I'll do all I can to hurry,
so you won't be alone.
If you leave this world before me,
and get too far ahead.
Will you remember I still love you,
Or will you ignore all that I've said?
My heart will lay down with you,
I'll lose my will to carry on.
I'll save all my strength,
so I can run.
Once my time here is done.
