Hold Me Now

Hold me now and never let me go.
For if you do I'm afraid I'll wake to find
it all was just a dream nothing true.
Here in your arms I feel so safe and truly loved.
Two things in my life that so sorely lack.
You help heal my wounds and calm me so that
I may finally get some deep badly needed sound sleep.
Please still be here when I awake.

Hold me now my love and let me whisper
in your ear how valuable you are to me
and how you complete my life and soul.
Kiss you on the cheek,
and stroke your long beautiful hair.
Shed a tear of joy
knowing that you're here forever,
now in your arms never letting go.

To you I can finally bare my entire soul,
my hopes and fears, the joys and glories held in my esteem.
Also too with you I can finally share
all those things I never have with others dared.
The pains and abuses from my past.
The humiliations and degradations I bore
and have carried on my own
for all these many years.

Please hold me now though well I share those things
for I must dig down so deep to dark and painful places,
spaces, that have been strictly forbidden
and will reopen so many terrible pains I've hidden.

Yet also hold me so I may in turn hold you.
For it is my life's intent to support
and take full care of you too.
For both of us to share our life's
with no greed but equality and sharing.

I want and need you to tell me all about your wondrous life.
The amazing tales I know are there.
The joys and triumphs you hold in high esteem,
and when you're ready share with me
all those painful things you hide.
I will hold you through the tears you cry
and soothe you with gentle words
reassuring you of all my love
and that I'm always going to be right here.

So please hold me now my only one, my lovely dear.
Let us start from here and soon embark
on our future of pure love and fortune
of spirit fruitful in it's pure glory,
and miraculous bond forever lasting.

poet John Clare

I love to see the old heath's withered brake
Mingle its crimpled leaves with furze and ling,
While the old heron from the lonely lake
Starts slow and flaps its melancholy wing,
