Humble Hermit - Poem by Michael Jon Horgan

Love was pain,
so humble hermit could'nt change
To fluke a soul mate,
was to rearrange
Gender provider, low confidence male a bane
Competition, materialism and theory,
yardstick of pecking order gain
The rosey world a scary place
Cot case hermit fell from grace
Natural selection, hermit should'nt breed
Out of the loop, gone to seed
Humble hermit was'nt into the latest buy
Dysfunctional and all out to sea, was he
A sad complex life, without a wife
Left hanging in a tree
