Treasure Island

Rajashri Saphia Singh

(11th July 1993 / Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India)

I could run on and forever

I could run on and forever

further and further

the walk might become nimble

my pride might fall down to humble

i’ll have to escape

but the feet that runs is bound

it keeps landing on the very same ground

circles that often repeat

i could keep running

but reality has a way of pulling me back in

it’s time i swear now

i’ll turn my back now

and stall, lest my feet stop

till then i’ll run

further and further.
