I Just Want To Be Happy

Life is torture
Life is pain
Why can't i be happy
And forget all the strain

Each day i wake up with a fake smile
Hoping that someday, someone will notice me
From half a mile

This is not me
This is not who i am
Why can't you people see
That i am not happy and calm
Walking around school as happy as can be
But is this really me?
People say suck it up
But why can't they realise my life is so tough

I just want to take this arrow from my heart
To relieve the pain
But i'm falling apart
Where's the light that's meant to shine
To change your life
But all i can see is my tears from crying

Going through your words I realise, how stupid we are to consider ourselves alone. I could so put myself on the words you mentioned above.
And there are millions of lonely souls wandering in each corner of the world, now how strange is that! !
I loved your way of putting your emotions in your words...
The way you make your words lively...
    Loved this... (Report) Reply

Outburst of the heart clearly filtered through this well penned and poignant write! Meggan, I can fully identify with your write since I have been through that situation many times over my life! If you read some of my poems, you would agree with what I said! I have never lost my Hope and Faith in the pursuit of happiness and still I am looking for at my age! But I know one thing for sure, there is light at the end of the tunnel! Your talent is clearly shown in this touching write! 10+++ WELCOME to the Poetry World! Thank you for sharing and keep it up! God Bless You! Love and Peace for always! Romeo from New York City! (Report) Reply

Poem of the Day

poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

When the hours of Day are numbered,
And the voices of the Night
Wake the better soul, that slumbered,
To a holy, calm delight;

Ere the evening lamps are lighted,
